An excellent and very detailed piece of work you’ve done here. I know the story of Jacob from my days of studying A level RE, many years ago, but I didn’t know Rachel was a saint until seeing your sketch. 🙂

Dear Millie, on the calendar on September 2 is marked as the day of this saint. But really this term: ‘holy’ in Catholic belief, it do not always has the same meaning. Sometimes they were apostles, sometimes other characters, and sometimes people who were beatified. Vatican has an infinite list. When I read Holy Raquel on the calendar of my kitchen, it mainly means that is his name day to celebrate his name. Sometimes there are a same name for different days of the year, because there may be several saints like it happens with St. Teresa of Avila, St Teresa of Lisieux, etc. I’m not a believer, but when I was a child I went to a religious school but nothing else. Don’t alter what you already know, because this is only a site about beauty in Art, and I’m sure you’re right. I deeply appreciate your visit and comment. You have a good day. ❤

Oh, I love that way of thinking. Besides, I enjoy explaining what I know. And when I do not know, I enjoy learning. Thanks so much for your comment: there wouldn’t a blog without you. xoxo

I’ll try to visit as much as possible. We’re off to Malta for eight days on Friday, so apologies for anything I miss during that time. I’ve been behind with reading posts a lot recently because we’ve been away so many times this summer.

Oh, don’t worry, I think the real life is the important, not the virtual one. You’ll have time this next autumn. Meanwhile enjoy your holidays. I think is a so good moment of the year to travel to a mediterranean isle, because the weather is fine but with less crowds. My heartfelt wishes for you. Enjoy. …….and thanks for stopping by. 😉
