  1. Fashion! A favorite subject for me, I am always fascinated how people express themselves through their clothes. You made interesting choices (no Holbein for once) I love my preferred artists Warhol and Matisse and the Flapper Girl not only wears a great hat but she has the sassy expression that comes with it! Canneti celebrates femininity! Gucci an icon: was this one used for comercial reasons? Thank you, this was a treat, Johanna

    • Hi Johanna, and thanks so much. I’m amazed for your so accurate, sensible and wise comment. I’m admiring and rereading your observations. I’m also liking what you say about Holbein. So true, but sometimes I wonder to make a relation of topics with their most representative artists and for title ‘Costumes’ Holbein could be a good choice.
But the most remarkable for me, is your attention, using your own words about the work of Gerda ‘sassy expression of the flapper’ I didn’t stopped on this detail but it is so coherent because this artist has a large work about scenes of prominent lust.

    • Since the time you said me that, I always remind you when I see a pic of flappers. I’m enslaved by you. (ha, ha, I’m kidding dear)…. Maybe you would like a comment I did to a follower in this post about the eyes that depicted Gerda, the woman artist. THANKS A MILLION FOR YOUR OPINIONS!

  6. Hello, I love that collection very much. It´s a very good mixture of different styles. The shoe, underwear, drapery. .Even matisse was paiting the ruffle blouse… amazing!

    • Oh I’m so glad because you have discovered the true goal of this post. During the last years I’m feeling a so special interest towards the clothing and fashion world, not for its use but for its moment of conceiving and creation.
What an exquisite movement and rhythm of the pencil by the hand of Matisse to depicts the ruffle blouse! No matter the motifs, Henri always found a moment to practise arabesque lines one more time. The hair and lips of this woman have similar curves as the blouse. Oh dear Agnes, I’m so grateful for your visits and comment. Thanks so much, good night and happy dreams ❤

      • Yes, now I understand – it´s the Matisse “ruffle-blouse style” we see also in his pictures “The Sheaf” or “Sorrow of the King”… Art ist sometimes just kidding… ,;-) Have a wonderful day! Nessy from the happinessygirls.com

      • Oh Agnes, I think you’re perfectly right. But the possible parodies about himself that can to make an artist are only in the graphical or visual ambit. They have like the ‘tics’ that experts can find for example about a filmmaker. Some repetitions are obvious on the sketches because this act is the most similiar proceeding than a writing action. The key is the personal and unique caligraphy. But people with no enough skills are only worried to depict and hide their own lines and strokes. Thanks so much for your comment. Have a nice monday ❤
