Out of the freeze…

HELLO BEAUTIES, AS YOU SEE, WITH A FEW STROKES OF WATERCOLOR, YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING YOU WANTšŸ˜‰

Illustrated Country Diary

And back to endless rain and mud. (Unlike the travellers who have been basking in 30+ degrees and who have been messaging photos of themselves cooling off in various exotic locations!) Here there are huge piles of snow against some of the hedges at the sides of the roads and a few tracks still blocked but the temperature has now crept up considerably and run off is causing minor flooding problems.Ā  The countryside looks tired and dirty littered with the piles of blackened or muddy snow. Some of my neighbours higher up the hill couldn’t get a vehicle out for over a week during the snow.Ā  Thanks to a coupleĀ  of local farmers who scraped the lane of snow we were able to ā€œescapeā€ after only four days confinement! We haven’t had a winter like this for 35 years.Ā  The year my sonĀ  was born.Ā  A close friend who was…

Color of Imagination…. Purple 9

GOOD MORNING BEAUTIES! PURPLE IS FOR FRIDAY. HAPPY DAY & KISSES FROM BARCELONA 😘🌈🌸

debi riley

So much fun to be had with the color purple.

Our imaginations take flight more so, with this one magic and mysterious color.

And, at last,Ā  the left brain….takes a seat.

ā€œWhat,Ā  IF….ā€Ā  is the dominant theme with 9Ā  ā€œpurple, violet, magenta, lilac, lavenderā€Ā  images below.

No rules, just play.

watercolor test color swatch, daniel smith amethyst, watercolour purples, creative art techniques, debiriley.com purple test stripĀ  – its a great way to warm up

Magic of Purple Paints

I love that there’s an infinite amount of Purple subjects to work with:Ā  flowers, hills and mountains,Ā  ponds and fanciful shadows… with an endless variation of warms and cools, lights and darks.

Purple is the color of magic. Of freedom.

Of mystery, of the arts, of creativity, of the archane.

It is a liberating color to use.

Don’t let any preconceived ideas and thoughts about ā€˜purple’ sway you.

Thoughts ofĀ  wishy washy faded wallflowers and pale shrinking violets;Ā  or stroppy, SHOUTY purples;Ā  or…

Audrey

GOOD MORNING, BEAUTIES! SOME HEAD DRESSING CAN BE A CHARMING TOUCH. TRY IT!

Square One Notes

Mixed Media

Audrey listens to 70s punk on an old turn table. She likes the velvety crackle of the needle in the groove. Reminds her of rowdy days gone by when she didn’t always have to dress like a lady.

Conflict/Ī£ĻĪ³ĪŗĻĪæĻ…ĻƒĪ·

HELLO BEAUTIES! OUR GREEK SISTER ANGELA HAS CAPTURED THESE GORGEOUS PICTURES PLAYING AND PROVING WITH DIFFERENT STUFFS. INTO ANOTHER POST SHE INSERTED A WONDERFUL QUOTE BY THE FAMOUS WRITER MIGUEL DE CERVANTES. HERE IS: ā€œTruth will rise above falsehood as oil above water.ā€ ENJOY !

My Creative Wayz

coloursandoiltxtredance

I called the photos ā€˜conflict’ because the drops of oil look like rockets or nuclear missiles, and the red looks of course like blood that was spilled and the blue is our earth, the yellow colour seems weak and is trying to keep the peace; to stop the conflict that is happening.

This is a continuation from an experiment where I used oil, water a glass dish, sunlight, but this time I added food colouring . I added food colouringĀ  to my oil and water photography experiment as suggested by fellow blogger ā€˜washekoda’. He suggested I put the glass dish on a speaker to create movement in the water, but I decided to wait for an earthquake instead;) But, no earthquake though. The drops of oil reflected a lot of light, but I liked the result.
