Ethnical. A very conflictive issue in U.S.

Hi folks ! This is a tribute to people killed last Saturday in a synagogue in Pittsburgh. It was not the Klu Kux Klan. It is simply the era of President Trump.

Thanks for your visits !

Drawlloween – Edgar Allan Poe

👻 DEAR READERS ! DON’T BE AFRAID AND ENJOY THE MYSTERIOUS STORIES😉

Pict Ink

Faced with the prompt “Raven”, there was really no possibility I would illustrate anything other than Edgar Allan Poe’s most famous poem.  I am a fan of Poe’s writing and, since emigrating to America, have visited two of his houses, in Baltimore and Philadelphia, and his grave.  I drew Ligeia in my art journal a few months ago and have illustrated other Poe stories and poems in the past.  However, while my initial thinking was to illustrate the poem ‘The Raven’, it just wasn’t getting my creative cogs going.  Instead, I decided to make an attempt at a portrait of Poe.  I don’t think I have drawn him since my mid-teens, when I sketched him inside a copy of his collected short stories, and I am not a portraitist by any stretch, but I thought it would be a fun challenge.  As for the raven, well, I think…

Day 1711 Do You Think it’s a Woozle?!

🐹 HELLO LOVELIES ! WE CAN FINISH THE WEEKEND WITH SOME TENDER SKETCHES ABOUT WINNIE 💞

Margaret McCarthy Hunt Art

A memory page from my trip to the High Museum of Art to see the original Shepherd sketches and ink drawings for the Pooh books. My brothers and I grew up reading the adventures of Christopher Robin and Pooh.

I decided to incorporate the leaves feathers and magnolia seed pods into journal pages for the Pooh sketch I did at the museum. The museum provided paper so and a child sized table to sit down and write or draw a letter to Pooh and friends they wanted and stick it in a mailbox. Oddly enough it was only adults filling out the letter on Friday.

I just love the endpaper from the books. I remember pouring over the map when I was a first or second grader finding each place the animals lived.

what a treasure that the Victoria and Albert Museumhas shared with us. Hop in your cars

Need for Criminalising Marital Rape

🌹🌹🌹YOU WERE BORN BETWEEN ROSES. DO NOT LET YOUR PERFUME BE STEALED

Sneha Narayanan

While we applaud Supreme court’s landmark judgement in case of Triple Talaq, it is disheartening to know that, in our country, something as heinous as Marital rape is brushed under the carpet. It isn’t even considered an offence. A rape is a rape irrespective of age, gender or marital status. Intercourse with consent is sex and without consent is Rape.

Last month, a 25 year old school teacher tried killing herself after she was brutally raped by her husband. In 2015, a woman was hospitalized due to severe injuries but her husband was not prosecuted because unfortunately the law does not consider Marital Rape an offence. These are just a few cases which hit the newspapers. Most of them do not even get reported. Does Marraige give a man permanent license to have sex with his wife, without her CONSENT? Should the wife always be willing to establish physical relationship…

Willow Pattern

✒📋 Hello lovelies ! These works seem the poetic compositions in which the typographical arrangement tries to represent the content of the poem, and are known as “CALLIGRAMS”. Enjoy !

Elizabeth Longwill

I’ve always loved the Willow Pattern I think it comes from finding bits of the blue and white China in the garden as a child. I was convinced if I collected all the bits I would be able to make a whole plate. Every garden seems to have fragments of these plates in I never really understood why! These drawings were done in combination with the lyrics from a Mary Coughlan song ‘like the wind takes a leaf from a tree, time will take your love from me’. You can read more about the story of the Willow Pattern here.

Baby Food and Watercolor

🍴 DEAR SISTERS ! COOKING AND SKETCHING CAN BE TWO FRIENDS PRACTISES 😊

Sketch Away: Travels with my sketchbook

Not too much work that I do in my other life, as a freelance illustrator, make it to this blog. But this assignment I just had to post because it was so much fun to work on and the original inspiration for this whole set of work was this sketch of radishes from my garden, done a long time ago.

food_radish

Early this year I created these watercolor illustrations for a new line of organic baby food. Here is a small sampling from the literally hundreds of veges and fruits I painted.

While it was a ton of fun to paint them, it is even more exciting to see the product finally appear on the shelves of stores…

Many thanks to the wonderful creative team I worked with: I had a blast working with you!
