💜✊WELL SISTERS! THESE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE WONDERFUL BUT THE IMPORTANT THING, IS THE MOTIF

Pics and Posts

We’ve reached the final post of our women’s words and art series. Today’s postcards are just as empowering and inspiring as the previous posts.

Artist: Cyla Costa

Talking back to the ideology that a woman’s place is in the kitchen or bedroom, this art speaks volumes:

A woman’s place is in the resistance.

Artist: Hanna Barczyk

I “designed” my own postcard featuring Hillary Clinton’s “famous” phrase a few years ago:

Women’s rights are human rights. –Hilary Clinton, from her speech at the United Nations Fourth Conference on Women, Beijing China

And from [my forever] First Lady of the United States, the timeless instruction our mothers instilled in us when we were children–to never, ever stoop to “their” level:

Artist: Andrea Pippins

When they go low, we go high. –Michelle Obama, Democratic National Convention, 2016

Artist: Cyla Costa

Reinterpreting Reinhold Niebuhr’s “Serenity Prayer,” Angela Davis‘ oft-repeated declaration is another call…

Taffy

I don’t care much for taffy, but the others in my family do. I did think this little piece was mighty pretty, though. I always like the little wrapper ends that look like they are skirts dancing.

loving bella foster’s happy watercolors

🎈HI LOVELIES, TODAY I WANT TO INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR SISTER, JAMA RATTIGAN. A VERY GOOD HEIRESS OF ART BY HENRI MATISSE AND DAVID HOCKNEY. BRAVO ❗

Jama's Alphabet Soup

Yes, come in! Please do.

Bella Foster’s watercolor interiors are cheery, welcoming, colorful, quirky and exuberant. Who can resist stepping into a world of bright and pretty florals, cozy fireplaces, and inviting bookcases?

Currently living and working in Los Angeles, Bella studied painting at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She counts among her inspirations Bonnard, Matisse, Josef Frank, and Mary Cassatt.

Her love of pattern and textiles is evident in her still life tableaux. Very few people inhabit her pictures; she instead likes to think of “people’s stuff” as characters in composition.

More of the arabian aesthetic. I drew this using pastels on a black sheet of paper. I was totally inspired by disney movies’ concept art where they used this technique.

This is my favourite so far! It is the third piece of this artwork series, partly inspired by the amazing animation of the film ‘Azur et Asmar’!

That’s all for today! Stay tuned for many many more! I plan on finishing a short comic next week, so the next posts are going to be pretty interesting!

Did you like the pastel technique? Want to see more of it? Tell me in the comments!

Day 2021- Nelie’s Kitchen

😋HI BEAUTIES ! OUR SISTER MARGARET IS A GREAT ARTIST AND SHE MADE DELICIOUS CHEESE COOKIES TOO. THANK YOU MY DARLING.💖

Margaret McCarthy Hunt Art

Hmm I almost forgot – my allergy addled brain full of antihistamine. Makes me lethargic.

But I have been industriously coloring away in my coloring I mean sketchbook. My daughter in law Nelie loves tulips so I drew hers this weekend.

I kinda like tulips myself. Bought some lovely red ones at Trader Joe’s. Need to paint them before they go. Also my daffodils I got there.

Made cheese cookies for a party tonite. Except I couldn’t find the party so I came home and tossed them in the trash. Yummy but I can’t eat them all.

Margaret going back to sleep now xoxoxo that’s what anti histamine is good for.
