Greetings

💌 DEAR LOVELIES! I HAVE NO EXPLANATIONS FOR THIS WORK. I ONLY OPINE THAT IS SWEET STUNNING AND FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME. I ADORE THAT SUGGESTING SHAPES.

Make Art...Magic Happens

hello all – with all that’s happened in the last few weeks, I can’t keep up with posting and visiting all my favorite blogging friends. So occasionally I’ll be back. My recovery is going well. I start chemo and radiation in two weeks to blast away the remaining brain tumor…99% was removed in surgery. I continue to be optimistic and hopeful. I have a great team of doctors who are also hopeful.

I finally got out the watercolors this morning and dabbled a bit.

Another Collage!!!

🌳 💚HELLO LOVELIES! I ADORE TREES. MAYBE THIS COULD BE AN OAK. AND SOME PEOPLE LIKE CLINT EASTWOOD LOVES TALK TO THEM 💚🌳 https://youtu.be/z-_N2KvFxt0

Wonky Words

Ihave been unwell this week, meaning the post I meant to bring you is still languishing in my notebook, unfinished and untyped. You are not missing much. There are two references to chocolate, and something about having several flirtatious encounters by 1pm. Nothing new there then. I believe I began writing this post back in May, what are the chances of me finishing it in time for next Friday? We shall see.

In other news: Brexit = headache + sore eyes + raging tinnitus ÷ hope = despair

So, with this in mind here is a picture of my latest collage. The pictures aren’t the best because I had already framed the collage before remembering to take some pictures. PLEASE NOTE, the drawing of the tree is not by me. It is something I’ve had in my care for many years and I’m pleased to finally have it on…

Edvard Munch – Maiden and the Heart

WELL DEARS, I LOVE REVISIT CLASSICAL ARTISTS LIKE THESE.

Byron's muse

And “love” is just a miserable lie
You have destroyed my flower-like life
Not once – twice
You have corrupt my innocent mind
Not once – twice.

(The Smiths, Miserable Lie)

Edvard Munch (Norwegian, 1863-1944), Maiden and the Heart, 1896

Edvard Munch’s etching shows a nude girl sitting outdoors, on the grass, surrounded by a few scarce flowers. She turned her back on us, showing off the beautiful line of her arching back. We cannot meet her gaze, but seen from the profile her furrowed brow allows us to assume that the feelings mounting in her soul are that of sadness or pain. Our attention immediately leads somewhere else. In her stretched hands she is holding a heart; live, bleeding, crimson red (we can imagine), pulsating, aching, painful heart. From about 1894, Munch was getting more and more interested in woodcuts and etchings, and he was skilful in those art…

The life & times of the nation’s favourite crime author, by Torquay Museum’s Agatha Christie Gallery

📚🔍 So true, dears. I love this expressive portrait, but all her work too.

London Life With Liz

Having visited Agatha Christie’s holiday home, Greenway, earlier in the week, I was excited to hear that Torquay Museum, just down the road from where I was staying, plays host to Britain’s only Agatha Christie Gallery. The weather having turned to rain on my final day on the English Riviera, it was the perfect time for a visit.

And a very fine museum this is, too. My only regret about is that I didn’t have time to see more of it – its new Roman Empire exhibition, based around new discoveries in Ipplepen, sounded particularly appealing. I was booked on an afternoon train back to London, however – so Agatha (I like to think that by now we’re on first name terms) took precedence. I shall just have to plan another Devon holiday…

The exhibition charts, very sympathetically, the course of Mrs Christie’s life, focusing on a number…

boho is finding beauty in the unusual and unique. Contrast colors instead of trying to blend and match colors. Bright colors are a huge part of a bohemian outfit. Bright red tunics, orange and purple caftans, electric blue harem pants, the gamut of colors creates a collage of self expression.

Layering and playing on the texture is vital to boho chic outfits. A loose caftan worn over jeans and a turtle neck keeps you warm and cozy.

Milan Fashion Week Illustration – Part 1

✈🇮🇹 CIAO LOVELIES! LET’S FLY TO MILAN.

fashion illustrations by Alison

The arrival of fashion week usually sees me spending (wasting) hours scrolling through various websites checking out the runway shows for drawing inspiration. Each season I seem to happen upon a model whose face I find particularly captivating for one reason or another. This year I found myself saving pictures of this same girl over and over. Eventually I discovered her name; Alina Bolotina. Isn’t that a name that just rolls of your tongue?! Alina. Bolotina. Alina. Bolotina. Alina. Bolotina. She has an interesting, kinda unusual, face; a bit doll like; a bit duck-face/lips (in a nice way). Disappointingly, Alina Bolotina is Russian, not Italian as I had imagined her to be with that name like that and this being a post about Milan fashion week, featuring an Italian fashion brand. Oh well, you can’t have it all… on to the fashion.

Tod’s is a luxury Italian brand established…

Embroidery flowers

🌍 🌸💚🌺 💙 WELL DEARS, THE PLANET SHOWS ITS PRIDE WITH FLOWERS, BUT BE CAREEFUL, IT ALSO SHOWS ITS FRAGILITY.

tesswyatt's Blog

I have been absent on my blog for a bit. Everything goes in phases……. Recently I have been making large colourful embroidered flowers. The centres have evolved into brightly coloured mandalas – the petals are attached with running stitch. I have been collecting second hand fabric bags to decorate.

This week I decided to go back to blue
