Ein Frühlingsgruss in Zeiten des Corona Virus – Zeichnung von Susanne Haun

💡🌺 HELLO LOVELIES. SUSANNE MADE THESE DELICATE SKETCHES BECAUSE SHE KNOWS THAT DIFFICULTIES ARE LESS WITH FLOWERS. A WONDERFUL IDEA!

Listening to TV..

📺 WELL DEARS, THIS SISTER NOT ONLY MADE THIS GREAT WORK, SHE ALSO LET THESE WISE WORDS.

Mallaband-Brown

I can’t watch it,

too much to see.

So many problems,

so much poverty.

Instead I listen,

I’m listening to the fridge,

it crackles and hums,

it’s never been right,

since we got it last spring.

I listen for the kettle,

time for a drink,

a warm cup of coffee,

while I sit and think.

I listen to the weather,

the sound of the wind,

hearing the rain,

on the roof its pounding!

I listen to the cat,

soft purrs hit my ears,

a relaxing sound,

brings peace and stops fears.

Rhododendron or Azalea?

Sketch Away: Travels with my sketchbook

I tried looking up rhododendron and azaleas to figure what I sketched. But between my loose sketch and the similarity of the two flowers, I can’t tell.
Rhododendrons_azalea3

What I do know is that it’s lovely to sketch with friends. I stole these three images from Iva’s instagram feed. That’s Iva, Nina and me, sketching that day.
Rhododendrons_azalea4Rhododendrons_azaleaWhen I draw like this, without pausing to think and plan, my compositions are chockablock with stuff. Maximalist. Messy. Bursting at the seams. Or maybe it’s just that I’m happy to sketch with friends. And happy it’s getting warmer and spring is here.

So are those rhododendrons or azalea that we painted?

Watching the Sun Set Between the Volcanos

🌞🌋HELLO DARLINGS. THE AUTHOR OF THIS WORK LET WONDERFUL SHAPES AND COLOURS, SO BEHOLDERS CAN GET A FREE READING.

Deliberate Sketching

We climbed up to the Cerro de la Cruz in Antigua to get a view of the city and surrounding mountains shortly before sunset. I did not bring any paper but after chatting with a sketcher from Brazil, I was invited to add a quick sketch into her book.

I liked the way the people on the hill were mesmerized by the setting sun and felt so lucky to have been given the chance to capture it.

I have been so busy studying Spanish, which of course is good, but it was even better to dash off a quick sketch.

Day Five: sketch challenge

📋 🔀 OH DEARS, WHAT A MAGNIFICENT SKETCHES ❗

ARTISTRY

smartcapture nib pen, black ink

I have to admit I am very tired and achieved even fewer sketches on Day five than on the previous four. Although I do realise this challenge is self-imposed and not a ‘do or die’ commitment. I entered this challenge to get me outside sketching, as often I am absorbed by writing, which means that I am inside at my computer too much. However, I had many other commitments on day five, and going out and about wasn’t possible, so I rustled up some images from sketchers I had on my computer, and sat at my desk – yes, inside.
