Art beginning from a teapot. By Joan Bankemper

Joan Bankemper with a work

Hi folks !

Joan makes ceramic ‘artifacts’. Each pot was made of broken dishes and filled with medicinal plants. In one of her signature series, she only used discarded teacup handles and coffee mugs. Her new ceramic work utilizes high-fired handmade porcelain buttons attached to canvases, incorporating such so-called prosaic skills as sewing while also addressing the issue of how things get held together.

Below some works made by her.

  1. Baroque et très original, dans des couleurs pastels,c’est de la ceramique qui rejoint l’art à part entière. Merci beaucoup pour cette belle decouverte.
