10 of The Prettiest Places in Basel

👜 💺🚩 HI BEAUTIES! I FOLLOW THE INTERESTING POSTS BY VIRGINIA DURAN SINCE SOME YEARS AGO. SHE IS A GOOD SKETCHER AND ALSO AN ARCHITECT THAT LIKES SHARE KNOWLEDGES OF HER TRIPS.

Virginia Duran

Basel is Switzerland’s little secret. Located where the Swiss, French and German borders meet, Basel is a mecca for architects.

One week before the world lockdown, I was gifted with the last chance to travel – not that anybody knew then what was coming, or the time it was going last. This week, Switzerland announced the opening up of museums and some business giving the rest of us Europeans a bit of hope.

Basel Tourismus and my friend Philipp Heer organised a short trip to this delightful area of Switzerland, where I could discover – for the first time – Basel’s many charms and architectural gems. A bit smaller than Zürich, Basel is more walkable, making it easier to connect the dots of an itinerary. Traditionally, the city has had an ancient kind of allure – Medieval Gates, grand cathedrals and historical palaces – but nowadays, contemporary architecture can…

Goûter l’eau

🇫🇷 🏊COUCOU! HI DARLINGS! THIS SUMMER TOO HOT. COME TO PARIS AND HAVE A FRESH BATH.

¥

Finding a Piece of my Heart in Peru

✈ 🎒 👣 🚩 HELLO BEAUTIES! AS YOU CAN SEE, BRENDA KNOW HOW TO JOIN ART WITH TRIPS. SKETCHES LIKE SMALL JEWELS.

Brenda Claire Porter

I had a plane ticket leaving for Peru today, returning to the land and people that hold such a big piece of my heart.

Instead, I perused sketchbooks from my travels there. Sketching helps me to notice details, and along with a few scribbled notes, each sketch brings back a sensory experience of being in that particular place and moment, complete with the smells, feel of the wind or sunshine, so many colors, and always, the smiles.

While I am not leaving home today, I am feeling so much gratitude to all of the women with whom I have traveled. Our relationships are symbiotic; you have made it possible for me to make a living traveling, and I have hopefully enriched your experiences, often in small, behind- the-scenes ways. I hope this post sparks memories of our adventures in Peru, or inspires you in some way, perhaps to look through…

Radhe Krishna: Traditional Figure Painting

🎨🌍🎨🌎🎨🌏 WELL LOVELIES! AS YOU KNOW ART HAS NO ETHNICAL OR RELIGIOUS FRONTIERS.

pencilwedspaints

Radhe Krishna PaintingEternal Love

The bond between Lord Krishna and Radha is considered as the epitome of true love. They loved each other, but they never married each other. Lord Krishna always insisted on mentioning his love, Radha before his name because he considered her as a part of his soul. They taught the world what unconditional love is.

Egg Tarts, Color Pencil, 2019

😋 WELL BEAUTIES, IN BARCELONA WE APPRECIATE THESE CAKES KNOWN IN PORTUGAL AS ‘PASTÉIS’ FROM ITS BELÉM CITY.

I have to confess that a lot of egg tarts were harmed in the making of these sketches.  Among them was the most hideous batch I’ve ever seen on sale anywhere – blistered and partly burnt – but which turned out to be the most interesting for drawing.

An exercise in self-control, exhibit A:

It was okay, this one didn’t look too appetizing anyway:

Have you ever tried stopping halfway through eating an egg tart?

I learned to eat an egg tart first and then draw a second one:

Just one.  More.  Bite.  (And no, the crust isn’t supposed to stick to the tin like that.)

CONSIDER YOURSELF INVITED…

😛 HI BEAUTIES! WE’RE INVITED BY A GREAT ARTIST. WE’RE THANKFUL. HAVE A GOOD MEAL.

Jots from a Small Apt.

Dinner with James DINNER WITH JAMES

We’ll be dining in the kitchen…surrounded with the savory aromas of a holiday meal all day in preparation. The reclaimed, battered and bruised farm table is covered with a treasured cloth sprinkled with rose images that mirror a Renaissance floral still-life. It is etched with faint stains from many meals now past, and creased permanently from years of being tucked away in the drawer used only for special occasions. Yes, this would be one of those occasions in the making.

Just for you.

Flatware. China. Wine glass. In place. Crackers on the platter waiting for the cheese to arrive.

Oven roasted, butter-basted breast of chicken. Baked skin-on potatoes and brussel sprouts. Par-boiled parsnips.

Flakey pastry,  sugar-crusted currant and toasted pecan wee pies, sitting in a puddle of Chantilly cream. (Make that two for me, please.)

And…the one festive fig.

Light the candles.

Pour the wine.

NOTE: Most…

Shrimp with garlic and bacon

🍴 😋 WELL DARLINGS, THIS WONDERFUL AND INCREDIBLE COMPOSITION BY MARTA IS ALSO EDIBLE, AND MY CHOICE IS FOR THE VEGGIE VARIANT ONE.

Mischievous Words by Marta

For seafood lovers, I decided to suggest one simple and fine shrimp dish. You do not need much time for this dish, everything is done in one pan, so there is not much cleaning. If you want a veggie variant, you can add zucchini, your favorite mushroom or some other favorite vegetable instead of shrimp, and of course throw out bacon.

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • shrimps, peeled and cleaned (455 g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ Medium sized yellow onions, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups cooking cream (480 mL)
  • 1 packet of fettuccine pasta, cooked (455 g)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan (110 g)
  • ½ cup fresh parsley, chopped (20 g)

Preparation:

  1. In a large pan, simmer the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Add the shrimps, salt and pepper and cook until the shrimps are browned. Remove the prawns…

🍍😊🍍 OH SISTERS, BEWARE OF VERY REALISTIC DRAWINGS. THEY CAN BITE.CONGRATS TO THE AUTHOR !

A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS

Two months back, I used to post stuff on my personal Instagram handle, where I only came across posts from celebrities and some random fashion bloggers. But today the scenario is different, I have a handle dedicated to my artwork and to my awe, there are tons of artists showcasing their art, its like a whole new world.

So this time I did some surrealism art, took the advice of a friend who spurred me towards exploring it more.

Let’s see if you guys like it 🙂
