🥬🧄 HI LOVELIES! OUR SISTER SHARI IS AN EXPERT WITH WATERCOLORS AND THIS TIME ALSO ON HEALTHY FOOD.

Shari Blaukopf's Sketchbook

This month I’ve been teaching on Zoom, and it’s been just wonderful to connect with students. My course is called “Sketching the Everyday, Every Day”, but I probably could have also titled it “Sketching the Everyday, Every Way” because so far we’ve worked in ink, pure watercolour, watercolour mixed with gouache, and next week will be pure gouache. Here are two of the demos from last week when we worked in watercolour.

Teaching via Zoom can be great. Students have told me that they love the view they get of the work surface because it’s a lot closer than if they were standing in a group around an easel. But teaching via Zoom can also be problematic. It’s completely reliant on good internet, which I usually have, except for a few minutes today when the wifi stopped working and I was left talking to myself for several minutes before I…

Mango Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Bowl

🌺🌴🥝🥭 WELL BEAUTIES, IT’S TIME FOR A DELICIOUS DESSERT.

Nourishing Amy

This autumnal-inspired smoothie bowl is the perfect cross-over for the late summer sunshine and the cooler September days. A thick and creamy fruit and vegetable-packed breakfast bowl or smoothie that packs lots of warming, cosy flavours and is full of nutrition.

My social feeds seem to be covered with pumpkin pie spiced recipes at the moment so I wanted to share this Mango Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Bowl with you right away; firstly because you can never have too many smoothie recipes and secondly because it features my first DIY pumpkin pie spice blend which I am pretty addicted to.

DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend

Pumpkin pie spice may not be a huge thing here in the UK but in the USA, I can imagine you can buy it by the bagful. Not that I mind, as this homemade blend is really easy to make from store cupboard essentials and it…

Acrylic painting – Still life

🍽️ 😋 HI SISTERS, TODAY WE’VE GOT A DELICIOUS WORK 😉

Soila Art

Another painting course day topic. Again still life with a food image twist. This was painted in acrylics was to be more loose and as topic we googled social media sites for food images, foodies (?).

We started with googling food images with nice composition, colors etc. I browsed Instagram the previous night and found many nice pictures. However, the shot was also advised to be front top to down, so that narrowed down the options. The angle was not mandatory, but I wanted to follow up on that since I came upon this nice plate setting. So I picked this nice cake image as a reference. The reference for the image was this recipe picture: https://www.giftofhospitality.com/cherry-coffee-cake/

Food pictures are actually quite nice subjects, but not exactly something that I paint that often. I mainly used my tiny Van Gogh tubes and white bigger tube of Amsterdam standard acrylics in…

Starting from scratch…..

🍎🎨 HELLO SUGARS ! I ADMIT THAT JANET IS AN ARTIST I ADORE.

My Life as an Artist (2)

There are many ways to SEE an apple….

Yesterday I received this message from a new follower: –

“I would like to learn to paint from you. Where to start? I am scared even to pick up a paint brush.”

The person who wrote this is not alone, and so I am prompted to write a post on the subject of starting from scratch and releasing fear.

I came up with the ‘apple exercise’many years ago because in principle it is simple and effective.

Any materials can be used – most of them can be found in your home or local pound shop. (you don’t need to go out and purchase expensive paints, brushes and paper)

I believe that the reason so many people feel a sense of fear and trepidation when they begin to make marks on paper is because we are taught from an early age that…

Make it Wit Chu

🎸🎤 WELL SISTERS, TODAY WE HAVE A WONDERFUL POST BY A GREAT SKETCHER, LOVER AND EXPERT ON BEAUTIFUL SONGS. ENJOY!

Summerhill Lane

Make It Wit Chu

Dear loved ones,

Hello. I have missed being here on this platform. I have missed reading what you have written. I have missed talking to you too. Obviously, I haven’t gone anywhere physical as there is no traveling allowed right now. Just to work and back and out for groceries and to walk the dog.

Yesterday, I was given a letter to present to authorities if ever I am stopped and questioned for being out and about. Emergency Measures Covid-19, Letter Confirming Essential Service Worker Status. I am to carry this letter with me at all times. This piece of paper has just freaked me out. Are we living in a police state now? “Present your papers or you will be detained!”. A very slippery slope to history repeating itself.

People are complaining about the sale of beer being cut off at 8pm. Our store is…

🔔 ⛪ HI SUGARS! ELISABETTA HAS GIVEN US THIS ARTWORK FOR OUR PLEASURE. CONGRATULAZIONI, SORELLA !

Armonieonline

Rosso Tiziano 2018, cm 70 x100
tecnica: tecnica mista su pagine di libro.

OPERA N° 2 VIRTUAL GALLERY

🌻🦔 WELL DEARS, THIS ARTIST MAMA ALWAYS HAS THE MOST GENUINE SKETCH WITH THE MOST EXPRESSIVE WORDS.

Quixotic Mama

i have recently decided
that it is enough
that i find
myself
hugely entertaining.

it is probably for the best
that i find myself
to be a hoot.
and that i love my own
art

i might be
unpopular
but i am me.
i am i am i am
i really really am

and i love that about myself.
