Soaking It Up

🏖️ HI SISTERS! DO YOU LIKE SOAKING UP THE SUN ? WELL, BUT DON’T FORGET TO SKETCH SOMETHING TOO.

Deliberate Sketching

Our Tuesday night Zoom model took a reclining pose for the evening. Perhaps because I was at the beach today, she reminded me of a sunbather. So I filled in the background accordingly.

A repetition of red figures having a nautical bent

⛵ HELLO DARLINGS! IT’S TIME TO SAILING AND TO SKETCHING.

e daggar art: THE MUSEUM

A painting of small red figured in sailboats on a rough sea

The Ohms survive in harsh environments; in the darkness of storms out to sea and the blinding light after a great whomp of snow has covered the terrain in wild mounds of cold down. Rarely alone, the ohms are nevertheless on a lonely and perpetual search. They never rest.

They appeared out of nowhere.

A repetition of red figures having a nautical bent; no fear of sea nor storm. They are seekers, always en route somewhere. Ohms have been spied in wharfs and on the quays of little-used harbors. They move silently, often in shadow or under cover of dim and dreary skies.

These are from a sketchbook I finished at the end of 2020. They are so very gold, so metallic and shiny, these Ohms.

Since the first recorded sighting, they’ve been spotted also in the far north, huddling beneath the aurora borealis. Its animated luminescence may hold…

The woman who introduced Brazil to Modern Art – Anita Malfatti

🇧🇷 💙💛💚 WELL BEAUTIES, I LOVE ANY CREATION MADE IN BRAZIL. ART AND MUSIC SPECIALLY.

La Modernista

Influences

Anita Malfatti was a precursor of modern art in Brazil at the end of the 1910s and a few years later she would be part of the most important event that “officially” introduced modernism to the Brazilian society: “A Semana de Arte Moderna de 1922” (The 1922 week of modern art).

Malfatti studied in Germany (1910-1914) where she first had contact with new art techniques and was immersed in the effervescent art scene of German expressionism.

She got to visit exhibitions where she saw the French impressionists, expressionists and cubist artists, which had a profound influence on her painting.

She produced many works with vivid colours and strong brushstrokes recognizable from this period of German art.

Voyages virtuels- Dessins quotidiens- Semaine 27

✈️ HI DEARS! DON’T YOU WANT A TRIP BESIDE AN ARTIST? HAVE YOU EVER A TOURIST FEELING?

Phases of The Moon

🌕🌖🌗🌘 🦉 OH HONEY, THIS NIGHT WE CAN BEHOLD AN SPLENDID FULL MOON. LET’S SKETCH AND CATCH IT !

Opinionated Head

Phases of Moon (water colour on paper)

Phases Of The Moon

Luminous, breathtaking, yet humble
So delicate, yet so strong in your reform,
Flawed yet magnificent like the moon
Showering the world with all the light you can reflect
Softened, sweetened and strained by your soul,
Keeping your dark sides to yourself
Even when the nights swallow you whole.

new painting } d’s message in her hand

🤚🏻📄✋🏻WELL SISTERS, THE MESSAGE IN HER HANDS IS THE QUESTION.

prettygreenbullet

duncan message in her hand D’s Message in Her Hand, acrylic on canvas, 2016

I just got back from London. There, I almost met a man. This man presented me with a beautiful face and an online personality so compatible with mine. And I filled in the rest to create a new muse for myself.

He has no idea how much he has inspired me to paint like a curious child again.

Painting over old sketches.

🎹 HELLO DARLINGS! A PIANO ALWAYS IS A WONDERFUL INSTRUMENT AND DEPICTED BY JANET THIS IS BETTER.

My Life as an Artist (2)

I am often asked the question – When is a painting finished?

This quote from Jidda Krishnamurti is my jumping off point for thoughts on this subject.

‘There is no end to education.   It is not that you read a book,  pass an examination and finish education.    The whole of life,  from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.’

The piano – rapid watercolour/gouacheOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEach painting we work on (including preliminary sketches and warm up exercises) is connected to all the work we have produced in the past and any work we will produce in the future…….Everything is interconnected.

Unlike many jobs where there is a clear beginning, middle and finish – a painting can take minutes, hours or years to complete…….and even when the painting is not being worked on – the seed of it’s idea is still…

Du Kleines …

🎸 HI LOVELIES, AS ALL OF YOU ALREADY KNOW, MIXED TECHNIQUES CAN AMAZE US. JUST THE SAME FEELING I HAD THE FIRST TIME I LISTENED ‘MOTHER’S’ THEME BY JOHN LENNON. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia_Lennon

Skizzenbuch/Blog
