💆♀️ TRUE SISTERS. THE CONCEPT OF “FASHION” HAD NOT YET ARRIVED, BUT ELISABETH LIKED THAT THE WOMEN IN HER WORKS WEAR A HEADDRESS.

I choose to write about Élisabeth Sonrel, a Art Nouveau painter from France. She was the daughter of the painter Nicolas Stéphane Sonrel and attended art school Ecole des Beaux-Arts and received prices for her paintings. After her studies she spend a lot of time on the northern coast of France and settled down in La Baule in the 1930s. She painted with watercolors and gouache. She painted young girls in the area and did mostly allegorical subjects, mysticism, symbolism, portraits, and landscapes.
