We’re All Broken Pieces Floating by*

HELLO LOVELIES! THIS POST BY KATHY IS REMINDING THAT ART HAVE NO LIMITS.

Kathy Nida

Really, brain? Once again, the night before I have to be up early for school, you decide that being completely wired and overthinky is the way to go, that sleep is just something for the weak. Rough for me, because Friday night wasn’t the best sleep night either. So I went to bed early Saturday to try to help, because I had to be up and out relatively early Sunday…but then the dogs got me up even earlier. UGH. Sleep. I wish it were easier. I really suck at it.

It’s interesting, because one of the things we’re supposed to talk about at our two-hour staff meeting today is teacher self care…but it’s my job that kept me up last night and Friday night. So. There’s that. Meditation. More of it.

That said, I got a lot done this weekend, all this pissy shit that needed doing: I graded two…

Luna

🐶🌛THEY VERY OFTEN CAN TEACH US WITH THEIR BEHAVIOUR.

Artsy Ally V.

Luna, 2019, Pen and watercolor on watercolor paper, 12 x 9 inches

Dogs are amazing. I really just love dogs. They’re so sweet and they’re just so pure and faithful. I have lived with five dogs over my nineteen years of life, and currently I live with three of those five. This painting is in honor of my incredibly cute and photogenic pup, Luna.

Luna the Ultimatedoodle

This little cutie is an “Ultimatedoodle” which is a mix of labradoodle and goldendoodle. She is amazingly cute and playful and ridiculously cuddly. This was my first ever attempt to paint one of my dogs (or any dogs for that matter), and I’m really excited about it! All the little loose, flyaway hairs capture her carefree nature perfectly. Hopefully I’ll have more dog paintings done soon!

This piece is available now in my shop! Just click the image to get started!

Episode 51

HELLO DEARS ! RUN YOUR IMAGINATION AND TAKE THE PENCIL SHARPENER. HERE WE WILL PROMOTE YOUR WORK!

The Art Lab

Hello, dears!

This week I have something a little different than my usual watercolor art for you today. 🙂 Quite different, in fact: in this post I shall give you guys a tutorial on how to make a cute owl with graphite and colored pencil shavings! 😀

But first, the inspiration behind the art:

Art Inspiration:

neat!

{via}

Pretty neat, isn’t it? I’ve seen things like this before and I think it’s a great idea, so I decided to make something like it myself! Let’s get started.

You will need the following:

  • paper or a canvas of some sort (I used an ATC)
  • sketching pencils or a normal pencil
  • a tortillon/blending stump or a tissue
  • a hand sharpener (NO WAIT I mean a pencil sharpener, but not an electric one XD)
  • colored pencils
  • liquid glue (I used Mod Podge but Elmer’s glue or Tacky Glue would also work)

Lily the Llama

HI BEAUTIES, TODAY I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE, THIS FUNNY LLAMA. THANK YOU, JODI !

the creative life in between

Lily the Llama.

Lily the lovely La La Llama
lived in a posh resort down south in the Bahamas.

There were not many llamas
that lived in the Bahamas.

But Lily, the queen of drama,
never did see the prob-llama.

She lounged in her pajamas
that were purple with polka-dottas,

and liked to sing sonatas
like Hakuna Matata.

With a floral headband she wore all the time-a
she quickly became part of the local fauna.

It sure was fun for a lovely llama
to live in the Bahamas.

It made a nice vacation for her Dad and for her Momma,
and even for her Grandpa and her beloved, silly Grandmomma.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
