Lily the Llama

HI BEAUTIES, TODAY I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE, THIS FUNNY LLAMA. THANK YOU, JODI !

the creative life in between

Lily the Llama.

Lily the lovely La La Llama
lived in a posh resort down south in the Bahamas.

There were not many llamas
that lived in the Bahamas.

But Lily, the queen of drama,
never did see the prob-llama.

She lounged in her pajamas
that were purple with polka-dottas,

and liked to sing sonatas
like Hakuna Matata.

With a floral headband she wore all the time-a
she quickly became part of the local fauna.

It sure was fun for a lovely llama
to live in the Bahamas.

It made a nice vacation for her Dad and for her Momma,
and even for her Grandpa and her beloved, silly Grandmomma.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Vogue Covers – Then & Now: It’s not about art anymore

📰👓HELLO LOVELIES! I AM NOT ANY FANATIC OF DALI BUT I LIKE THE WORK OF THIS COVER OF MAGAZINE.

Denver Sewing Collective

Remember when models were on the cover of Vogue? Remember when models were on the cover of Vogue?

If you haven’t heard Kim Kardashian made it on to the cover of Vogue magazine April issue (with Kanye right behind her). The cover has generated more negative comments then one can shake a tube of lipstick at.  (Full disclosure, I’m not a fan of any of the Kardashians, nor of reality television. ) The photo spread was done by Annie Leibovitz but her signature style seems to be all but missing. It’s just Kim looking vapid and uninteresting. Not even photoshop can help there.

21st century magazines are about ad revenue, not so much circulation revenue. Advertisers want to be in magazines with a Kardashian or as Vanity Fair did, give a spread to the Yoga Butt Lady not because its art but, because it generates people to the website, Facebook page etc. Remember when Time had the Breast Feeding…

Luxury and Fashion

✏ ✂ 😉HI SISTERS! A WONDERFUL CLOTH BEGINS FROM A GREAT SKETCH

Kitty Calash

Sometimes this is a hard hobby to love. My hands hurt, my creativity feels dead, and there’s no place to go all dressed up. After a long, unpleasant spring, I finally feel like sewing and playing. Drunk Tailor and I definitely missed some things we very much wanted to do, but now we’re reinspired, we could take baby steps back to our normal semi-hectic pace– except of course, we are plunging back in with three events in August after a whirlwind trip to Ticonderoga.

Wedding dress in cotton muslin ca. 1797. Nationalmuseet Danmark.

With the summer heat in mind, I ordered batiste and voile, thinking I would make the Tidens Toj gown, but when the fabric arrived, it seemed that the purveyor had confused the two fabric types, so a new plan was required. Alas, the trials of costume research and falling down the fashion magazine rabbit hole for hours…

I started to curate my Instagram page @artsonscratchpapers and the blog, so “finally” i made an editorial calendar or schedule of all my works. for this week, i commenced the plan with #PINK + #PEOPLE + #PATTERNS series. Today, I started with “LEAF”.  🙂

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. – Maya Angelou

HELLO LOVELIES! I’M A FAN OF MIHAELA SINCE SOME YEARS AGO. SHE IS HUMBLE BUT A SO GREAT GENUINE ARTIST. ENJOY THE SCULPTURE AND PAINTING IDEAS ON HER WORKS.

Learn Polymer Clay

Hello dear friends!

This is Day 2 of the Use your Scrap Clay Challenge. For today, I have prepared a shorter tutorial but with great potential, in my opinion.
So prepare some scrap clay, silver foil, stamps, ink pads and alcohol inks and let’s get going!

Materials and tools

  • Scrap clay
  • An acrylic roller or a pasta machine
  • Silver gilding foil
  • A seahorse stamp
  • StazOn black ink
  • Pinata alcohol inks (red Chili Pepper, Sunbright yellow and Sapphire blue)
  • Diamond glaze
  • A paintbrush
  • Cernit varnish
  • Montee beads
  • A needle tool
  • A craft knife
  • An oven and an oven thermometer

I hope you’ll like my tutorial and most of all, I hope you’ll be inspired to make good use of your scrap clay.

Happy claying!

Mihaela
