Fiddling Around With Projects to Get Through Hard Times and Good

🧱 🛋️🪑🛏️ HI BEAUTIES! TODAY WE HAVE SOMETHING AMAZING: WHEN SOME HOUSE REFORMS TURN INTO ART. CONGRATULATIONS, GENIE.

Genie Geer Artyology

In light of current events, how can my need for creative expression possibly matter, given the frightening state of affairs in the world?  Is that shallow of me?  I am petrified of the term “shallow”.  It has been used to describe me during my most rebellious periods and haunts me.  I curse myself for my vast amount of shallowness in previous decades and wonder how much remains?  Gawd.  Sadness and Fear drifted in these last couple months more than expected, but also some great joy in family coming together.

Urgent family business requiring three stressful and relatively unpleasant trips Downtown and much paperwork prep, coupled with the sudden and unexpected death by cancer of my beloved cousin Ronald, laid me low a few days.   I started mixing up house paint because my pale blue bedroom was on my nerves.  There were 3 false starts until I finally mixed a pinky-peachy-beige…

Tiny Bedroom Interior: Five

🚪 WELL DARLINGS, TODAY ART BY SISTER CLAUDIA SHOWS US, WHAT CAN WE FIND INSIDE HOME.

Claudia McGill and Her Art World

In October/November 2022 I took a class at the Smithsonian called Build a Tiny Interior, taught by Marcie Wolf-Hubbard. Yes, it’s an offshoot of a class I have taken a couple of times before taught by the same artist – Build a Tiny House!, and you have seen examples of my Tiny House work here on the blog.

As I have mentioned before, I have always loved dollhouses and as a child spent a lot of time building my own mini homes in various materials. Now so many years later, I am rediscovering this path with great pleasure.

In a short series of posts I will tell you about my Tiny Interior project.

Now the finale: here is the whole room and its furnishings.

You can see how I trimmed the box so that the room didn’t feel too high or narrow and yet would show off…

under the rainbow.

🌈 🖍️🎨 WELL, DEARS. MAYBE WHEN WE ARE UNDER THE RAINBOW, WE ALL FEEL SHARING AN UNIQUE HOME.

I didn't have my glasses on....

my classroom is chock full of

multi-age kinder (3s-young 5s)

who stay with us for two years.

one of the very best things

is watching the older kinder

who were the younger kinder

just one year before

as they quite naturally and organically grow

to become the leaders/teachers/helpers/mentors

to the new group of younger kinder

who were at home

just one year before.

what a joy it was to watch someone older

spend a very long time

finding all the special markers she needed

to create an easy to see linear rainbow

for someone younger

who wanted to create

her very own rainbow picture

in her very own style

using all the special colors.

judging by their faces

when she finished her very own rainbow

they were both equally proud of the results.

“nine tenths of education is encouragement.”

Of what we are made

🏡 HELLO HONEYS! TODAY YOUR HOUSE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE LANDSCAPE.

Oishmortal

The 27 year old me wanders. Being lonely wasn’t just what I enjoyed. It’s a solitude I found after being out there and being let down. As humans, we find it a mandate to socially connect and roam in groups. Are we all not doing okay now?
The soul that sees beauty always works alone. It puts a better burn on sunsets and makes the night air feel better.

A red barn

🌾 FIONA’S COMPOSITION IS VERY ORIGINAL. HIGHLIGHTS THE SPACE FOR THE FIELDS AND REDUCES THE SKY. THE RED COLOR ALSO ENHANCE THE BARN. THE CURVES IN THE LEFT HALF OF THE WORK AND THE DIAGONALS IN THE UPPER RIGHT PART, REINFORCE THE PERSPECTIVE.

Rive

🔷 HI DARLINGS! MAYBE SHE IS BREATHLESS AND LONELY ? THE ANSWER IS THE LANDSCAPE.

Art et Semence

Ai-je cherché l’entente,
D’une rive qui s’est essoufflée,
Le murmure d’un chant ?
