Eternelle.

👸 🌍 💜 MERCI BEAUCOUP. AW DEARS! WHAT A WONDERFUL WORDS, AND WHAT A GREAT SKETCH.

Catherine Berthold

Ph 30_éternelle.JPG

Life Drawing in Line and Shape

📣💃LET’S DANCE, SISTERS! BUT DON’T FORGET TO SKETCH.

Sketch Away: Travels with my sketchbook

To answer a question I get asked pretty often, “Do you do line first or shape/color first?” I shot this little video while sketching in a virtual life drawing session.

The answer: I go either way and the end results aren’t that different.

Here is the finished page.

I would go back to non-virtual life drawing sessions in a heartbeat, they are a completely different experience, but for now I enjoy the fact that any day I think I can squeeze in some time to join a session, there is one somewhere in the world that i can join.

Inktober #1 Fish / Poisson

😇🌍🐠🌎💦🌏 HELLO DEARS! PLANET IS NEEDING A LOT OF ANGELS LIKE THIS. GREAT WORK !!!

Arineange

/ Hello, here’s my drawing for the first day of Inktober!

C’est l’association No Plastic in My Sea qui l’a mit en place.

Hallo Zeichenlust

HI LOVELIES! OF COURSE, A DOG HAS ALSO ITS TURN
🐶 HI LOVELIES! OF COURSE, A DOG HAS ALSO ITS TURN IN THIS BLOG.

ClaSpi Art

Was natürlich absoluter Quatsch ist, warum Schuldgefühl? Ich bin ja nicht verpflichtet! Also einfach abwarten.

Day 215 Kitties Cleanup

😸 HELLO DARLINGS ! ALL OUR PETS ARE VERY CLEAN PEOPLE.

Margaret McCarthy Hunt Art

Kitties cleanup after breakfast this am. I was quite daring and left four of them inside last night. Nobody knocked on the bedroom door to wake us up this morning. However they were excited to go outside and eat breakfast. Tootsie Weenie and Hallie will let me pet them a little while they eat.

They seem to like “inside” and especially the tiled laundry room. So far no poo anywhere.

Namiki Fude so much fun to draw with but that Noodlers Eelskin ink which is suppose to be permanent smears even after its dry. 😩😩😩

Margaret ready to eat some dinner. Homemade butternut soup. Hope it’s tasty. Xoxox

Inktober 2020 Day 3: Bulky

🙆 HI LOVELIES! I LOVE THE GREEN SWEATER AND SO MUCH THE BACKGROUND OF THIS SKETCH.

ThreeSixFiveArt

The viviva watercolor on this watercolor paper caused me a little trouble here… it stayed damp longer than I anticipated and ran places I hadn’t planned on. I’m still pretty happy with my Bulky sweater. (and bag and shoes)

THE CAT AND THE MOON

by: W. B. Yeats (1865-1939)

HE cat went here and there
And the moon spun round like a top,
And the nearest kin of the moon,
The creeping cat, looked up.
Black Minnaloushe stared at the moon,
For, wander and wail as he would,
The pure cold light in the sky
Troubled his animal blood.
Minnaloushe runs in the grass
Lifting his delicate feet.
Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?
When two close kindred meet,
What better than call a dance?
Maybe the moon may learn,
Tired of that courtly fashion,
A new dance turn.
Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
From moonlit place to place,
The sacred moon overhead
Has taken a new phase.
Does Minnaloushe know that his pupils
Will pass from change to change,
And that from round to crescent,
From…

Edwardian Dress at the Monet Exhibit at the de Young Museum (Plus Butterick B6229 Pattern Hack)

🎨👗 SO TRUE, BEAUTIES, MASTERPIECES LIKE MADE BY MONET ARE ASKING LOVELY DRESSES.

Fresh Frippery

Last weekend my local costume guild organized an outing to see an exhibit of Monet paintings at the de Young Museum in San Francisco and I wore a dress made of blue cotton sateen and antique lace.IMG_7850

I had to take photos looking upwards because my broad-brimmed hat created shadows on my face, and I was also trying to hide a splint on my hand, so sorry about the weird poses! It was a bit cold that morning so I wore an antique Edwardian blouse underneath my dress as a guimpe.IMG_7818

I needed a quick and simple dress so I used Butterick B6229, with modifications. I picked that pattern because I was already familiar with it after using it for my Downton Abbey maid costume, and knew it fit.IMG_8004

This is what the pattern looks like before I hacked it.IMG_7539

The 4 main changes I made to the pattern…
